Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for at least one child who can not get away from me when I get the camera out. I don't think I'm going to have this much longer. Good thing Aunt Sarah is due in January and I'll have a new subject then =).

She's not innocent either

Seriously. Not. at. all.

She's a STINKER. She instigates trouble- she'll scooch her way over to Aidric just to slap him over the head. When we tell her no, she LAUGHS and does it again. When she doesn't like a request we've made she shakes her head and says, "NO!" We are in trouble with this one! It's hard to keep a straight face with the "discipline" though b/c she just cracks me up!

gobble, gobble

Our little turkey. He came home from his "Mother's Morning Out" program with this. I pulled it out of his backpack and made a huge deal out of it, "Oh, honey, did you make this???" He replied, "I did NOT. My teachers made it."

Love the honesty. Though, I'm venturing a guess he had a hand in gluing that beak on.

(He always very clearly enunciates I DID or I did NOT. My writing it out does not do justice to the cuteness of this.)

he only LOOKS innocent

trust me.

She's a lover

She's SUCH a sweet cuddler- both with us and any stuffed animal you pass her way.

I don't remember what I said that made her do this, but it's so her. She does this at the table while we're eating all the time.

Choice Me

We give a LOT of choices around here. It's just easier. Instead of, "Aidric, come over here so I can change your diaper", it's "Aidric, do you want to walk over to mommy or do you want me to come get you?" He feels like he's in control and things generally go much smoother.

The other day, I apparently didn't give him a choice when I asked him to do something. (I wish I could remember exactly what the scenario was, but I can't.) After I asked/told him to do something, he just looked at me and said, "Mommy, choice me." I about died laughing. Then, I gave him 2 choices and we moved on.

Aidric: 2 years, 5 months

I love this cheesy little grin.

If you're really paying attention, you'll notice he's usually clutching some sort of thomas or car in most pictures. (though every now and then, "girl" makes an appearance)

countdown to a year..

I can't believe there is less than a month before our BABY turns ONE. Yes, I still call her a baby. I think it's so different than when Aidric turned one, b/c I was pregnant with Juliet when he was 10 months old. So, there was a "new" baby and it was easier to let him become a little boy. Now, she is the only baby and I'm not ready for that to change!!

Fun things to love at 11 months:

10. Like your brother, you love to read. You INSIST on turning the pages and while you like the "touch and feel" books, you like to do it YOURSELF.

9. Your sweet sweet kisses.

8. The way you say "mama". And more recently, "dada" too!

7. How you scoot up right next to me, pull yourself up using my clothes and then throw your whole body against mine for a huge hug.

6. Your excitement when you notice me when I've come to pick you up from Mom's Morning Out.

5. The way you laugh with Aidric when the two of you are splashing together in the bath. Daddy and I always end up wet, but you are having too much fun to make you stop.

4. How you stand up for yourself. Gone are the days of telling Aidric he just has to give you a new toy if he wants to take the one you are playing with. Now, you make it VERY clear that you need to approve of the trade too.

3. That you definitely know what you want and/or do NOT want. You are so FEISTY when it comes to pushing your bottle away the minute you decide you do not want it anymore.

2. How generally easygoing you are. You are really able to entertain yourself and just chill much of the time.

1. You love to cuddle- you just randomly put your head down on my chest while I'm holding you and stay there all cuddled in. Sometimes for 10 seconds, but sometimes for 10 minutes. (if i have the time to just sit down and cuddle back- and if I sing to you, you'll pretty much stay put for as long as I keep going)

Playing with Aidric...

Conversations similar to this one happen all the time, but I jotted this down verbatim right afterward. He likes to pretend the rings from a toy are cookies and tells us they are very hot when he hands them out. He had 3 of them lined up in front of him:

Aidric: Which one you want, mommy?

me: the orange one

Aidric: You don't want the orange one. Which one?

me: the green one

Aidric (in a sing songy voice): noooooooo

me: umm, the blue one

Aidric: OK!

He just cracks me up. I mean, why couldn't he have just given me the blue one from the beginning?? =)

Happy Halloween!!

Before heading out for the party and trick or treating, we took a few shots at home:

OK, more than a few pictures. We took a lot and these are the outtakes.

Do you think they are done with me?

Aidric going in for a kiss and gets a hand to the face instead:

After she hits him, she looks all innocent, with her little finger in her mouth.

Off to the party!
Aidric with his 2nd cousin, Raquel. Raquel was a witch, but is also wearing part of her twin brother's wizard costume =)

Jonathon, the wizard, makes an appearance here...

and then Juliet joins the action, but is much more interested in the fireplace behind her

a quick family shot

We headed out for trick or treating, but it was already dark, so I didn't get any pictures. Aidric LOVED it though. We were with a big group and he inched his way up to the front every time, saying "Trick or Treat" in a loud voice. After he received his candy, the giver was usually busy handing it out to the rest of the kids, but Aidric would say, "Thank You!" and if he/she did not answer him with a "You're welcome", he just kept repeating himself until he was acknowledged!

and a devil

I love this picture so much, it's the only one I'm putting in this post; and I'm even including the black and white version. I've got one more coming with the two of them together and just a few from the party.

An Angel

(this is SO much better...I complained to Mollie about my horrific editing attempts on these pictures and she worked on this one for me. SO SO much better than the version I had up before. Thanks Mollie!!)
