I must have blinked

...for a really long time. How is it possible that Juliet is FOUR months already?? She is a such a happy little girl- I wonder if it's typical for a second child to be so easy going and easy to please? All you have to do is look at her and she breaks out into a grin. (you would think she'd be willing to smile for a few pictures, but she gets so serious as soon as I disappear behind the camera!)

She had her 4 month well check last week:

height: 24.5" (60%)
weight: 14 lbs. 8 oz. (75%)
head: can't remember, but it's in the 35%

She's perfectly content to hang out and watch Aidric play for the most part. She shares her exersaucer and bouncy seat with him (pictures to follow- hilarious!). She has tried to roll over a few times, but no success yet. She loves to sit in the bumbo in the kitchen while we eat and does a great job in there. As for sleep, she is doing great! She fell asleep tonight after just a few minutes of fussing in her crib.

sleeping beauty

We started sleep training last night! I don't know if I really thought it would be easier the second time around, but it really isn't. Doesn't matter if it's your first baby or second, it's still hard to hear them cry. But, she did great. We used the same method we did with Aidric, so she never cried more than 10 minutes without one of us going in to check on her. Once asleep at 10:00 pm, she slept great until 6:00 this morning!!
I remember Aidric caught on really quick at night time, but naps were HORRIBLE. He was never a good napper to begin with, and he fought them so hard when we did the sleep training. I was dreading doing naps today with Jules more than I dreaded last night. Her first nap was a bust and she ended up sleeping in the swing after a failed attempt in the crib. But, for her second nap, she fell asleep after about 20 minutes. I couldn't resist sneaking in to take a few quick pictures of her first big girl nap. (and to get this little blankie out of her hands and off her face!)

Austin Rodeo

First stop: fair food. YUM. nachos with cheese, the best corn dogs ever and an order of curly fries.

Aidric was in tractor heaven. He could have spent all day on these and maybe we should have let him. Would have saved us $3.00 PER RIDE once we made it over to the carnival section!

On our way over to the carnival..(yes, just one black and white, my friend Mollie converted it to b/w for me and I loved it!)

Here we have the CAAAAAHS (said with a boston accent by Aidric). Poor child did NOT understand the concept of the END of the ride. He bawled his eyes out, kicking and screaming, when he had to get off. We let him ride a few times before we literally had to drag him away. We distracted him with one ride on the choo-choo before it was back to the cars.

All in all, a VERY fun day!!! (And tiring apparently; Aidric's nap lasted until almost 6:00 last night!!)

Sweet Girl..

is holding her head up so well these days. She's freakishly strong when you are holding her, but just hasn't been that interested in holding her head up until just this last week. She was working really hard on rolling over today, but couldn't get that inside arm out from under herself to do it! I've been working on getting some giggling videos downloaded, but for some reason I can't get them on here!
